How Creatine is Transported into Your Cells
The transport of creatine is mediated by the amount and efficiency of circulating insulin, the most powerful, anabolic hormone in the body. Early research performed by Dr. Paul Greenhaff formed the basis for consuming carbohydrates with creatine. In these studies, subjects took creatine with more than twice the amount of dextrose found in most creatine formulas on the market today and experienced a 60 percent greater creatine absorption compared to subjects taking creatine with water. Taking creatine with water does not stimulate insulin release because carbohydrates are needed to achieve this effect. Taking creatine with a glass of juice is better than simply taking your creatine with water, but an 8-ounce glass of juice simply doesn’t contain enough high-glycemic carbohydrates to significantly elevate insulin levels for optimum creatine absorption. CELL-Tech contains added ingredients which act as cofactors in creatine metabolism, along with the insulin-potentiating amino acid taurine.

The Importance of Dextrose for Absorption
