Acetyl-L-Carnitine ( ALC ) is a natural nutrient supplement recognized as a powerful cognition enhancer and life-extension agent. ALC is also considered to be an important anti-aging complex that has shown success in helping to combat depression in the elderly.

Acetyl L-Carnitine (an acetylated ester of the amino acid L-carnitine) is used by the body to transports fats into the mitochondria where they can be metabolized to produce energy in the cells. Normal aging processes can severely impair this transport of L-carnitine from the liver to the blood stream and other areas of the body. Supplemental ALC is more digestible than unesterified L-carnitine, and is able to rapidly enter the circulatory system and improve transport efficiency.
