The Polar heart rate monitors are some of the best on the market. They offer a wide variety of monitors for every type of athlete and fitness enthusiast that are extremely accurate in providing feedback and very durable so they can withstand the pounding in rigorous workouts. The price of the monitor parallels the number of bells and whistles, but they are all very high quality. So if you are fine just having the basics, you’ll still get a great product for a competitive price. The great feature about the M32 model, is that is comes with the wear link coded band. This band prevents interference from other monitors. Not a big deal if you run by yourself outside, but if you plan on running on a treadmill at your local gym and don't have the wear link band, don’t be surprised if you pick up your neighbors heart rate on your screen!
If you are only looking for feedback regarding what your current heart rate is, then the basic F1 should be fine. As they go up in model number, a few more options are available such as a calorie counter and program saver. They do provide valuable feedback; it’s just up to you to decide how much feedback you would like. The M32 provides you with everything you need so you can learn how to program your cardio workouts, and it’s still easy enough to use without having to be tech savvy. It is common for people to upgrade, so if you think you may be in this category, you might want to invest in a higher model number early in your training. Whichever model you decide is best for your fitness program, you’ll be getting a quality product.
